I have been an artist my entire life. I’ve watched and studied the beauty of everything to be seen, taking in the colors, shapes and contrasts of land, trees and sky. I throughly enjoyed the design in buildings, cars and the common letter to the thin hand painted line of a Model A. I also learned the importance of what is not there. I was hired at a commercial sign shop at the age of fifteen. This is where I first learned the basics of surface prep, paint application, lettering and pin striping and was first exposed to the airbrush.
Within a few years I was working with Gold leaf. My years of experience and knowledge has lead to many high profile jobs including work at the Kansas Museum of History, Brown vs Board of Education NHS and the Kansas State Capitol. My work has also won many awards in the show and race car world.
Having mastered many techniques over the years and now having the time to work on my passion the Gilded Girls were born. Nothing has touched me more than the most elegant and graceful form of art than that of the female form and what better way to capture that beauty than with the most precious metal in the world….Gold.
Thus the Gilded Girls is my expression of that beauty.
